Crockett

Crockett is a small white dog with black spots who has been there since Nate was a small child. He has tried, repeatedly, to learn chess with the others, and with great enthusiasm, but even the basics escape his grasp. However, he loves his crew and is always around.

• Comic relief – always acting before thinking first
• Travels with the main crew, plays chess when called upon
• Plays as a pawn in games – usually the first one sacrificed, never seems to mind

Background

Where Argus is steady, Crockett is chaotic. He is happy-go-lucky, and is the only one who can soften Argus, which comes in handy during their adventures.

Role in the Story

Crockett is often oblivious to the world around him, for better or for worse. Distracted easily, and gets the group in sticky situations as a result. He reminds us to take in the moment and be who we are.
