Listening to: The Falcon - When I Give the Signal, Run!

Last ten days have been busy, but the first week of chess lessons is finished and that is worth posting about. This is my second session doing it, and so far so good. This session I have 64 students over five different classes, for five weeks, so this first week juggling everything was a little difficult.

  • I work with a Youth Enrichment Program, so some are after-school-care programs, and some take place in the evening. Lot of smart students this time around and a lot of excitement for the game! I love it. Yesterday a six-year old rattled off the definition of Stalemate and used such economy of words that it was honestly inspiring!

What I worked on:

  • My chess classes and playing around with Blender. I’ve almost got a checker piece ready, for the main character’s home
  • I remembered why I started PJCC in the first place. These chess lessons are so enjoyable that I thought, “how do I build this into my own business?”. PJCC can offer an entire empire of options to work with. Lessons, Tutorials, animated shorts or series.
  • My PJCC consistency took a dip, but I do like to “set the table” for more dedicated work, and in this case that may take weeks. Working three jobs for the next five weeks.

What’s next:

  • My weekend is pretty wide open! I’m off to a good start with this blog post, and I am working on minor fixes of the website (the navigation buttons should look like little pills, my background picture isn’t loading, etc.)
